What Was She Wearing – Feat Thandie Newton & Michelle Williams

Hello, hello, hello readers. It’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy another episode of What Was She Wearing: Answers! All the information (and alternative options) was thoughtfully complied, just for you, by our lovely interns Allison and Jessica. As always, we hope you enjoy!

Rachel Bilson

We really can’t get enough of Rachel Bilson. She exemplifies consistent style, and just when we think she can’t possibly get cuter—she does! She’s done it again here at the Independent Spirit Awards, where she wore an Olga Kapustina dress and Marni heels. She also wore Chanel jewelry, which is the perfect finishing touch on any ensemble. (Dress: price upon request, Olga Kapustina www.olgakapustinaonline.com (launching soon). Shoes: similar style $595, www.marni.com).

Thandie Newton

Thandie Newton looked so glamorous at the Los Angeles Norbit premiere she made many of our readers—and ourselves—wonder what she was wearing. After some undercover investigating (cue the James Bond music) we’ve discovered that this flirty navy-blue number is by Fendi. Thandie’s also wearing Fendi shoes and earrings designed by Neil Lane. The dress has the perfect amount of shimmer to exude sexy, without being over-the-top. To track one down for yourself, call or visit a Fendi boutique close to you

Michelle Williams

We all did a double take when we first saw pictures of Michelle Williams at the Independent Spirit Awards. She epitomizes grace by complimenting her Mia Farrow-reminiscent haircut with the darling Chloe dress she’s wearing. The dress is embellished enough, so she wisely kept her jewelry minimal and carried a small Chanel clutch. The dress is from the Chloe Spring/Summer 2007 collection

Reese Witherspoon

We at WhoWhatWear applaud Reese Witherspoon’s ability to multitask a career and motherhood, while still maintaining an enviable taste in fashion. Seen here getting ice cream with her son, Deacon, she looks like she could take on anything. Maybe it’s because of the ice cream, or maybe it’s because of the great messenger bag and Oakley sunglasses she’s flaunting.

Of the two indulgences in the photo, the bag immediately caught our attention. This Lanvin Suede Travel Bag is a navy masterpiece with brown leather straps, and it comes with a detachable tan canvas shoulder strap, as well. Originally sold at Barneys ($1850, www.barneys.com), it’s sadly no longer listed online, though other cute options are. If you must have this exact bag, try placing a bid on our swear-by site, eBay where one is currently listed (bid at press time: $989, eBay).
